Was this really a tax cut, or more of a delayed tax
A delayed tax would be the kindest word for it.
But, since we expect a shortfall in Social Security revenues at the same time we know that we are deferring appropriation for the Republican initiatives of the last six years, A better description would be the subversion of the middle class retirement benefit from Social Security.

The tax cut was a reward to the very wealthy and big corporations so they might continue to contribute to the Republican administration while they cut important services to all citizens such as health care, environment, education, welfare, affordable housing, transportation and help with natural disasters.
The war debt will be paid for by future generations.

Politically speaking. Substantial tax cuts save cents. While Tax increases costs you hundreds.
The best way to tell if a Politician is lying to you is to look and see if his mouth is moving, They do and say whatever it takes to get elected. After the election the cater to people with the with the big bucks so they are able to get re-elected. Today’s Politicians are purchased. Their biggest budget concern is their own bank book, not ours.

The deficet is already going down, not up. The citizens usually pay the tax and the senate is currently looking for new ways to tax people. Not delayed; they were trying to help families and grow the economy by people having that extra money to work with. If we’re always heavily taxed, then people have less and less to spend, and that brings down the economy…that and rising costs of products and services.
